Chrissy Teigen isn't afraid to let it all hang out (both metaphorically and literally) when it comes to her body, opening up about everything from her armpit liposuction to her vagina-baring AMAs dress.
Now, we think we can ALL agree that Chrissy's one of the most gorgeous women to ever grace this here Earth, whether she's wearing traditional Balinese attire,
Sweatpants and a T-shirt,
Or absolutely nothing at all.
But sometimes Chrissy's ~supermodel status~ makes us overlook something critical: She's a human who has insecurities about her own body just like everyone else.
"There have been times I've cried to John, where I felt like I would never have 'that' body," Chrissy told an audience at Los Angeles' BeautyCon over the weekend. "Everyone has a butt now, and curves, and a little waist, and that's not me…. I'm jealous of those bodies and I want that, but I also feel like I really want to be cool with my body because of people like you guys… That's why I don't post many makeup selfies, because I don't feel anyone knows what a real face looks like anymore and it kills me that we have to completely wash a face or body out for it to get likes."
Chrissy went on to describe the promise she's made to herself about being authentic on social media, which isn't as easy as it sounds: "My old *ss will go on social media, and I will look at the Photoshopping, Facetuning, and the apps — and everything that goes into creating what is now a hit Instagram photo — and I feel insanely inadequate," she admitted.
Though some people on social media thought Chrissy's body image remarks were overly picky,
We think Chrissy's refreshingly honest remarks are an important reminder for everyone: No matter how perfect someone may look to the rest of us, everyone's got their own insecurities. Props to Chrissy for owning up to them and keeping things real, per usual. 👏
